Mainhausen – As per 1 September 2011, SPORT 2000 International GmbH will welcome Christian Tews (36) on board as new Business Unit Manager for its apparel division. Mr Tews was born in Hoexter and graduated in the field of sports facility management and operations with a “Sportfachwirt LDT” degree.
In Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, the SPORT 2000 group confidently presented itself as the number 2 European sports shop association at the general meeting of SPORT 2000 Marketing AG and GmbH. European member shops generated sales worth 5 billion euros – an increase by 6.4 percent – in 2010.
The WFSGI has nominated a new chairman for its CISO committee (Committee for International Sport Organizations) in the person of Mr. Wolfgang Schnellbügel (52), Managing Director of SPORT 2000 International GmbH. Mr. Schnellbügel has a long industry experience and is specialized in the retail sector.

Sport Depot, which became the license of SPORT 2000 in Bulgaria in the summer of 2009, has seen its partnership extended to Serbia. It is opening the first Serbian SPORT 2000 store on 300 square meters in Nish this week and following up with a 1.500 sq.m.location in Belgrade by the end of this year. It will be the biggest multi-sport store in the country, and unlike those in Bulgaria, it will carry the SPORT 2000 banner alone.
