Social Responsibility

As a global sports retailer, taking responsibility for our society and environment is a key part of the corporate philosophy of SPORT 2000 International. Every contribution to the sustainable development of sports retail counts. That is why our business activities always take environmental and social factors into consideration. Our membership of a range of associations and organizations supports us and keeps us on the right path.

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals

REACH is a European Union regulation dating from 18 December 2006. REACH addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment.

It is the strictest law to date and the most important regulating chemical substances and affects industries throughout the world. The regulation also established the European Chemicals Agency which manages the technical, scientific and administrative aspects of REACH.

Our customers are the main focus of all our activities. We want to offer them products that have been produced properly and are absolutely safe. To ensure this, SPORT 2000 has developed the Code of Conduct towards suppliers. This is intended to ensure that our fundamental principles as well as all national and international labor, social and environmental laws are adhered to. The fundamental human and labor rights as well as social and environmental standards set out in this Code of Conduct are based on the ILO Conventions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations. We share the vision of a sustainable future put forward in the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and strive to promote social and environmental standards in all supply chains.

Lower costs - save resources - protect the climate

Doing business with responsibility and foresight: SPORT 2000 is part of the climate network together with 14 other groups. This innovative climate protection project was brought into being by the SME group Germany in cooperation with the National Climate Protection Initiative of the Federal Environment Ministry. The common goal is to win over small and medium-sized companies to deal efficiently with the climate, energy and resources, to reduce costs and to systematically raise awareness of these issues. This should save 50,000 tons of CO₂ within two years.
